200 BREAKFASTS IN 3 HOURS DESPITE THE SNOW!
The children of Llangrove CE Primary School are celebrating another fantastic fund raising success.
The 5th Llangrove Big Breakfast on Sunday 5 February raised £1,100 for Hereford Hospital Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) and school funds.
Huge thanks to all of you who supported our charity breakfast last Sunday. We think it was a great day enabling people to enjoy a hearty cooked breakfast, chat with friends and neighbours and raise funds for a worthy local cause. The event would not be possible without your support and the help of the volunteers and donors including: Llangrove WI, Maggie Pridgeon, Sarah Harris, Jonathan Price, The Royal Arms, Whitchurch MOT Centre, Woods of Whitchurch, Rossiter’s Bookshops, Owen Pell, Roberts Limbrick Architects, Little Chic Boutique, and Lucja Fratczak-Kay.
Special thanks are due to those who helped us with food donations including: Sam Madeley of Glewstone, Bartonsham Farm Dairies, Sean Simpkins for milk delivery, Neil Powell Butchers, Sheila and Vernon Jones, Gamber Produce and Mr and Mrs Hamze at Spa Services at Daf-y-nant, Whitchurch. Thanks also to the lady who donated the marmalade, apologies but we don’t know who you are!
The Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) at Hereford Hospital supports babies that need extra care during the first few weeks of their lives. The funds raised will be used to provide nests (soft fabric holders that help keep small babies warm and secure) and pressure-relieving mattresses. We would like to thank Jan Rosser, who worked for 10 years as a Sister in SCBU units, and came into school to talk to children about how SCBU cares for premature babies.

NEW START AT LLANGROVE
The nine new Reception children at Llangrove CE Primary and their fellow pupils hosted a church service on Tuesday for family and community members and then invited everyone to school for a coffee morning which raised £150 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Mrs Kelly Steele, Assistant Headteacher said "The children enjoyed baking bread to celebrate harvest and welcoming their families and friends into school for our coffee morning. Our recent partnership with the Hereford Marches Federation of Academies (Lord Scudamore Academy, Sutton Academy and Kings Caple Primary Academy) has boosted our children numbers this year, provided security for the school and lots of exciting learning and social opportunities for our staff and children."
Many thanks to everyone who supported our Harvest service and coffee morning it was lovely to see so many people.
